| Day #7: Sirolo Tour |
The last day of our tour is dedicated to the discovery of the Adriatic coast which closes our journey from the Sibillini Mountains to the Adriatic Sea.The route is characterised by a more or less straight stretch that links the territory of San Severino Marche to the coastal territory. It goes through the small town of Passo di Treia, Montecassiano, Montefano, Recanati – Giacomo Leopardi’s birth place and home town – as far as Loreto, the famous religious Sanctuary. This Sanctuary is tied to the legend of its construction which contains parts of a church that came directly from Jerusalem and legend has it that the angels carried this church during the night directly to Loreto. The journey continues to Numana and Sirolo, two beautiful tourist holiday resorts called the pearls of the Adriatic Sea, lying directly under the foot of the spectacular Mount Conero. Here, if you want, you can spend the afternoon on the lovely beach in Sirolo. The return journey to San Severino Marche is by van and the distance covered is about 90 Km (56 miles). Difficulty: Medium / Hard
